About Me.
Hello! I'm Tegan Burgess, a Texas native who calls Austin home. I graduated from Cedar Park High School, where I actively participated in the Marching and Concert Band playing Trombone and Euphonium. I also found my self as part of the Theatre Tech. My foray into the theater industry began with my role as a Sound and Systems Technician for my first live musical, The Phantom of the Opera. Thanks to my skills and commitment, I swiftly advanced to become a Lead Dept. Technician, igniting a lasting passion for the theater scene.
On Sundays, you can find me at church, where I am on the production team. While my primary role involves running sound, I also enjoy working on lighting, camera ops and various technical aspects of the productions.
Although my heart lies in production, I pursued an Associate's degree in Computer Information Systems with a specialization in Network Administration at Austin Community College. After spending over three years in the IT Support industry, I realized my fondness for it didn't match my true passion. This realization led me to go into production full-time as I became a Production Manager for an event management company in Cedar Park. Unfortunately, due to some market challenges, I faced a layoff. However, during my job search, I've remained engaged by taking on diverse small projects and freelance opportunities. Deciding that I wanted to be a full-time contractor.
Every day I dedicate myself to learning new technical strategies, consistently seeking opportunities to enhance my capabilities as an audio engineer. Additionally, I find pleasure in staying current with various aspects of technology, ranging from Audio and Lighting to Stage design and beyond.
